Duties

1) To monitor and coordinate local, national and international studies for combating climate change and protecting the ozone layer, to prepare legislation on necessary issues accordingly,

2) To provide national coordination within the scope of international organizations and conventions for combating climate change and protecting the ozone layer and to fulfill the duties of national focal point,

3) To carry out legislative studies and other studies for the harmonization of the European Union acquis in the fields that fall within its field of duty

4) To prepare or contract a third party to prepare the national reports that our country is obliged to prepare within the scope of international organizations and conventions,

5) To coordinate the Climate Change and Air Management Coordination Board,

6) To ensure the national coordination of combating climate change activities at the local (at the scale of cities and geographical regions), to organize / Schedule capacity building activities for the preparation and implementation of climate change action plans and to develop legislation,

7) To monitor and evaluate national and international developments regarding the control, recovery and disposal of substances that cause ozone depletion and greenhouse gases, which are alternatives of these substances, to draw up or contract a third party to draw up these accordingly, to determine and implement policies and strategies,

8) To monitor, control and report greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change on a national scale,

9) To work on market-based mechanisms and economic instruments, especially the emission trading system within the framework of climate change policies,

10) To ensure the coordination of studies for the monitoring and evaluation of climate change adaptation policies,

11) To work on informing and raising awareness of the public,

12) To prepare and implement national and international projects in the fields that fall within its field of duty,

13) To fulfill other duties assigned by the Administration,
